Farewell To My Summer Garden….

Hello my gardening friends. I just harvested the last of my cucumbers, beans, tomatoes and cowpeas from my summer garden and tidied up the yard a bit to plant my fall garden . I utilize mostly containers for my veggies (various pots and planters) but, I use my trust 12 inch wood planters in the fall. I created a little grid to give you an idea of how my plantings will look when completed (I am a novice at this computer planning, so I am apologizing in advance LOL)!

    1. Thank you. I used a program from Better Homes and Gardens.

  2. I lay out my garden plan each winter. It helps me get through the long, dark days of winter. I love that you have a program that puts little plants in the spaces. I just do mine in Excel and use colors (and text) to indicate what goes where.

    1. Thank you…the winter days here are awful too. Around January, I am devouring every garden catalog or book in sight!

  3. It’s fascinating to see you planning a winter garden when here in New Zealand we’re preparing for summer! Kale (of all varieties) was our star performer in winter – good to see it has a place in your garden too. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks for stopping by. I wish I was starting another summer garden. I am not a big fan of winter.

      1. I’m the same, but all seasons need to have their time… I’m planning to use summer for improvements outdoors (gardening and renovations) and winter for working indoors (renovations and reading) – but I’m still not sure whether that will work…
